Printable habit trackers — without streak guilt.
Three ink-friendly habit tracker sheets, free to download and print. Unlike every other printable, these are designed for real life: a goal column that accepts “3× a week”, a best-run box instead of a fragile streak, and comebacks that get counted.
Monthly habit tracker
The classic 31-day grid for up to 12 habits — plus what no other printable has: a best-run box, a comebacks counter, and a GOAL column that accepts “3×/wk” or “8 glasses”, not just daily checkmarks.
Weekly sheet — flexible goals
Built around targets per week (“exercise ×3”) instead of rigid daily rows. Any day can complete the goal — the week wins when shaded days meet your target. Nine habits, notes box included.
How to use a printed habit tracker (the honest version)
Stick it somewhere you can't avoid — fridge, desk, bathroom mirror. Shade a box each day you show up; that tiny act of shading is itself a reward, and it's why paper tracking has survived every app generation. Two rules make it last:
- Leave missed days blank and keep going. Research on habit formation found a single missed day doesn't affect the process — what kills habits is quitting over the gap. Our sheets are built for this: gaps cost nothing, best runs are records, and the comeback counter turns returning into the win it actually is.
- Write honest goals. The GOAL and TARGET columns exist because “daily” is the wrong frequency for half of all habits. “Gym ×3/wk” you hit beats “gym daily” you abandon — here's how to choose.
Which sheet is right for you?
- Monthly grid — the overview. Up to 12 habits, one page per month, patterns visible at a glance.
- Weekly flexible-goals sheet — for real schedules. Targets per week instead of rigid daily rows.
- 66-day builder — for one new habit. Based on the actual research timeline (not the 21-day myth), with milestones at day 7, 21 and 66.
Want ideas for what to track? Our 50 habit ideas guide includes a realistic cadence for each — copy them straight into the GOAL column. Prefer tracking in the browser? There's a free online tracker too, no signup.
Frequently asked questions
Are these habit tracker PDFs really free?
Yes — free to download, print and share, no email required. They're made by the team behind the Habit Radar app; the footer credit is the only 'price'.
What sizes do the sheets come in?
Every sheet comes in A4 and US Letter, designed for black-and-white printing (the only color is a soft amber note box — it prints fine in grayscale).
Which sheet should I start with?
Most people want the monthly grid on the fridge. If your schedule varies week to week, the weekly flexible-goals sheet is more honest. Starting one specific new habit? Use the 66-day builder.
What happens when I miss a day on a paper tracker?
Leave the box blank and shade the next day — that's the whole system. Our sheets are the only printables designed around this: best runs are records to beat, and comebacks get counted, not punished. The research behind it is in our missed-a-day guide.
Can I print these for my class, team or clients?
Yes — share and print freely, including commercially with coaching clients or students. Please keep the footer credit, and link to this page if you share them online.
Paper or app — which is better for habit tracking?
Paper is calm and always visible; an app adds reminders, amounts, timers, stats and history that survives the fridge cleanup. Many people use both: the 66-day sheet on the wall, Habit Radar for the daily nudge and the long-term record.
Reminders, amounts, timers, flexible weekly goals, yearly reviews — and the same philosophy as these sheets: missed days stay quiet, best runs are kept, comebacks count. Free to start on iPhone and Android.
